THE PROBLEM
We chose to participate in the open category. We were able to create any solution!
Our goal was to create a mobile responsive application that allowed users to determine if commuting on the bus was cost effective, and if so, allow users to track their savings.

This was our first codeathon - ever. We didn't really know what to expect! We knew to try to plan out our project as best as possible before getting to work! - CODE & COLLABORATE
We coded so much that weekend! We learned a lot and got to collaborate on all parts of the project.
THE RESULT
Busvi is a full-stack application that tracks user bus activity. My teammate and I built this application over 72 hours as a submission for the VIA Codeathon. We implemented different Google APIs and multiple government data sets to calculate money saved, carbon reduced, and commute times by riding the bus. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we finished in 3rd place!
